American Battle Monuments Commission

From the New Mexico Genealogist (Military Issue), December 2003, p. 243.

If your relative or ancestor served in the United States Armed Forces and died overseas during World War I, World War II, the Korean War, or the Vietnam War, access to his or her information is available at the American Battle Monuments Commission website.

This site contains information about overseas burial locations, service rank, cause of death, etc. Once you select a war listing, type the soldier's surname, then select from the list. If you do not have access to the Internet from home, access is available from your local library.

Information may include the following: Name, Rank/Service, Regiment, Division, Death Date, Burial Information, and Cemetery.

The following is a partial list of World War I servicemen recruited from New Mexico who died overseas:
