Information received from NMGS member Maximo Martinez:
I would like to see a mistake corrected. An entry in the Spanish and Mexican Colonial
Census of 1845 was incorrectly written by a census taker 154 years ago, then extracted
and published as it was found in the record. See New Mexico Spanish and Mexican
Colonial Censuses, 1790, 1823, 1845 extracted by Mrs. Virginia Olmsted,
published as New Mexico Genealogical Society Publication #B2, rev. 1979.

Listed under the El Rito heading (Mora County) on page 226, 1st entry of frame #446
is the following:
Ma Pascuala Trugijo (widow)
Manuel Martin
Mariano Martin
That "Mariano" is in fact Maximo Martin, son of Pedro Martin
and Pascuala Trujillo. I know that the correct name is Maximo as he is my
great-great grandfather. The person who wrote the original census made the mistake
of not crossing the "X" in Maximo.

Maximo Martin's marriage record [AASF 94, Mora Marriages frame 328, April 21, 1857]
confirms his parents' names as Pedro Martin and Pascuala Trujillo. His brother,
Manuel Jorge Martin, married Candalaria Trujillo.
