NMGS Press Item #E2, 1981
Indexed and spiral bound. $50.00. 810 pages.

From the Introduction:

"Lucero de Godoi in the parishes of Albuquerque, Abiquiu, Cochiti, Isleta, Picuris, Santa Clara, Santa Cruz, Santa Fe, San Ildefonso, San Juan, Taos and Tomé, with special emphasis on the descendants of Diego Lucero and Ana Maria Martin and among their issue, their son Santiago Lucero who married Barbara Padilla, an heiress of Sebastian Martin.

Captain Pedro Lucero de Godoi, born1600 Mexico City, died before the Pueblo Revolt in 1680.

Married by 1628 to Petronila de Zamora, probably the daughter of Bartolome Montoya and Maria de Zamora. They had at least three children: Catalina Lucero (who married Diego Romero); Juan Lucero (who married 1st Luisa Romero; 2nd Juana de Carbajal, and 3rd Isabel de Salazar); Pedro Lucero, who may have been the child of second wife, Francisca.
Married 2nd to Francisca Gomez y Robledo. She died in the massacre of 1680. They had five daughters; one of whom was Maria Lucero, wife of Lazaro de Misquia, and a son, Francisco Lucero, who married 1st Josefa Lopez de Grijalva, and 2nd Catalina de Espiñola.

Pedro had two brothers: Diego, a secular priest, and Francisco, in Mexico City.

The children from this family permeated the whole of New Mexico over the following generations, so that the book's index alone covers 206 pages of names in two columns per page. Included are lists of terms, customs and racial terminology used in the publication, and a name index. The author's continuing research after the book was published produced some additional material, additions and corrections. Those are added at the end of the book and are not included in the index.

An exceptional family genealogy.
