Pedro had two brothers: Diego, a secular priest, and Francisco, in Mexico City. The children from this family permeated the whole of New Mexico over the following generations, so that the book's index alone covers 206 pages of names in two columns per page. Included are lists of terms, customs and racial terminology used in the publication, and a name index. The author's continuing research after the book was published produced some additional material, additions and corrections. Those are added at the end of the book and are not included in the index.
