Proof of Eligibility:
For each generation, list the authoritative reference for
EACH statement of birth, marriage, and death listed. If
you have no proof, leave the space blank. It is important
that proofs be included which link each generation to the
next. It is permissible to go from the male in one generation
to the female in the next.
Type
of Proof:
- Photocopies of birth, marriage, and death certificiates.
- Photocopies of printed material, including title page
of the book plus numbered pages of the text.
- Microfilm copies with reel number, date of the record
and name of the library where it was found.
- Photocopies of family Bible records, with title page
of the Bible.
- Courthouse records, including the book and page number.
Copies of all the proofs MUST accompany your application.
Retain the originals of all material submitted, as the application
and copied documents become the property of New Mexico Genealogical
Society.
The Primeras Familias de Nuevo Mexico committee
will review all applications received. It is the committee's
responsibility to make the final decision as to acceptance
or rejection of an application.
Fees:
This service is available to all members and nonmembers.
Fees are nonrefundable.
Cost is $15.00 for the first application; $10.00 for each
supplemental certificate based on the same verification
package. For example, your proof of ancestry may be made
to your great-grandparent through one line, and to a great-great-grandparent
through another. In this example, an application for two
certificates would total $25.00 (the first at $15 and one
supplementary at $10). Make check or money order payable
to New Mexico Genealogical Society.
